CONHUAS SERVICE UNION
The Unión de Servicios Conhuas is a social and solidarity initiative of the Conhuas ejido, which marked a milestone within the community by becoming the first company constituted as a cooperative society within the entire community.
It was born as a collective model focused on generating local economic development through sustainable productive projects that strengthen community work.
A PROJECT WITH A COMMUNITY VISION
Our cooperative was created by ejidal agreement, with a view to continue integrating new members into the society and ensure that the benefits are distributed equitably throughout the agrarian nucleus. We seek to strengthen our economy under a model of collective work, sustainable growth and a broad sense of community.
TOURISM MANAGEMENT AND SERVICES
Among our main projects are the provision of temporary lodging services and food and beverage preparation, initiatives that were consolidated thanks to the constitution of the cooperative society, after several years of planning.
In addition, we are committed to the sustainable management of tourism and the promotion of local and regional development, integrating the natural environment that surrounds us as a fundamental part of our raison d'être. We operate in one of the most conserved and biodiverse jungles on the continent, within the Balam Kú and Calakmul biosphere reserves, protected natural areas of high ecological value. This implies that each of our actions are oriented towards environmental conservation, promoting more conscious and responsible forms of travel.
PRIORITY PROJECTS AND STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
As part of our growth strategies and expansion of productive activities, we promoted the creation of Ecoaldea Tanaj, Boutique Hotel, a key project within the cooperative's priority initiatives. This lodging concept seeks to offer a unique experience to visitors, while actively exposing the ecological sense of our collective model.
In addition, Conhuas is one of the ejidos in the region with the most certified tour guides, which allows us to integrate more local actors while strengthening the provision of tourism services for visitors seeking to learn about the cultural and natural wealth of the Mayan jungle.
Our strategic location, less than one kilometer from the Calakmul station of the Mayan Train, has contributed to the early consolidation of our project and has meant an improvement in the tourist offer that receives national and international visitors.
GROWTH WITH POSITIVE IMPACT
The Union de Servicios Conhuas continues to evolve, strengthening its organizational structure and improving the delivery of its services. We are constantly striving to improve and increase the productive opportunities of our ejido, while reinforcing our cultural identity and the conservation of our rainforest.
